Greene House

Meltzer Mandl Architects PC as Architects

Located on Greene Avenue between Carlton Avenue and Adelphi Street in Brooklyn, this tower-on-base building sits adjacent to a historic district in Clinton Hill. The building is 12 stories in height, with the base portion occupying most of the site, and a residential tower above.

The base of the building provides spaces for community facility uses such as doctors’ offices that occupy much of the cellar, ground, and second floors. A lobby for the condominium and garage is also located within the street-level base of the building. Atop the base, spacious roof terraces are provided for tenants of the condominiums as well as for the community facility.

The floor plate of the residential tower has a unique profile, which gives each unit on the floors above a slightly different shape in plan. The façade of the tower has a gentle curve and treated with a palette of aluminum metal and brick tiles.

The residential tower contains twenty-seven (27) one-, two-, and three-bedroom units which all have balconies. Sizes range from 740 SF to 2,400 SF. The units on the north side of the tower enjoy spectacular views of Manhattan.
