The program for this residence in Mogi das Cruzes, 50km away from São Paulo capital, is designed to attend the necessities of an architect, his wife and son.
The sloping lot, with a forest of native trees in the back, made possible the occupation in a single block, with two floors of 85sqm each, maximizing the local species preservation.
The intimate area is on the ground floor and the social area is located on the lower floor, with direct access to the forest. The volume of the house opens to the back landscape, and its posterior closing is given by the combination of wood and glass, maintaining the transparency for the views.
On the street facade, a less leaky closure was used, in masonry and glass, preserving the intimacy. In both facades we can see the portico formed by the eaves in balance and the great lateral gables.
Two elements in apparent tapered concrete stand out from the main volume of the house: the entrance box on the ground floor, accessed by a ramp, and the dining room box on the lower floor.
The openings in the house favor cross ventilation.
Since the back forest is preserved, the temperature is always mild, creating shady areas and protecting the construction of the direct solar winds and rays.
The rainwater is stored in its own reservoir and reused for external areas gardening and cleaning.
As the surroundings do not have a sewage collection network, it goes through a treatment system in the lot itself.
It was possible to conceive an integrated environment between built and green spaces, using sustainability techniques and low environmental impact, where the full and empty visuals, together with the chosen materials provide the well-being of the residents.
