The project involves the rehabilitation and extension of a town house in rue des Lilas in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon. The existing house is located on a plot bounded by walls of enclosures. The field is therefore characterized by an enclosed, protected, quiet, with a strong presence of vegetation, out of sight. We notice on the site two great western facade plane which strongly contribute to the perception of the house in the background from the street. The project will maintain the planes and take care not to disturb the urban system that offers interesting qualities to the street. The extension differs from the existing house by its materiality. She is fully dressed in a brick cladding, complementary material often used for addition work on existing buildings. A white limewash covers the face and brings a bright light in the garden. The implementation of the extension of sync with the alignment south side of the existing house dissociates two architectures from different eras while establishing a strong dialogue between the scriptures seeking complementarity: valuing one another but no apparent resemblance. Wide openings in southern façade, garden, allow a frank relationship between interior and exterior. This addition, current through the use of noble materials (brick, wood, zinc) refers to a constructive fashion "traditional" and trying in this way to create a consistent relationship with the architecture of the existing house.
