Sound is a continuous event, an expression of the multiplicity in all things. Sound is energy formalized, a concept named by physics: vibration. This vibration can be designed from infinites shapes, sinusoids or fragmented shapes, always linked to the nature of the energetic source.
Music is a contemporary expression, a continuous event, one extended space constructed by the superposition of pictures from a spectrum, the space where the sound is represented. Sounds on a medium is represented by a circular blooming, a concentric blooming, that touch the surface and take position on a process of action-reaction. The “shape of the box” always is linked at this dynamic reaction that absorbs or “multiplies” the energy. The concept of accumulation or absorption is very important in the construction of musical instruments; normally this detail is linked to the curves and circles utilized in the majority of musical instruments.
The building in conceived like that circular blooming from a center, making reference to a symphonic orchestra. It is by this order that’s the project grows naturally, it proposes an open form that places in value the spaces of landscape from the interior in multiples possibilities, in all the possible directions.
The ground floor contains the technical areas, the most important part of services, and the mobile platform that vertically serves all the floors above, bringing forth a certain idea of machine.
The second floor, the permanent exposition, is deployed in a continuous tunnel of wood, and the continuity of 12x7 metres, that parallels the history of construction in music, is a part made complete by the sound dome and the performance hall.
The third floor is open in all directions. It proposes a free plan full of possibilities on lighting and sound.
The work of all the sections was accompanied by the presence of two types of acoustics, from the continuity to the fragmentation, along with the perfection of the curve.
