House of Wind

H2R architects as Architects

The site in Xindian is surrounded by the beautiful small forest in the valley with small stream. On the other side, the site condition close to the city requires quite high dense volumes in the small site. With the condition, how can we create the living space with the precious surrounding nature in essential way?

The architecture is separated into 35 small volumes and shifting flexibly by corresponding to nature as if the volumes are swinging in winds. The slight shifts of the volumes bring wind into the space, water into the space and protect people from the strong sun light. All spaces become comfortable space to stay to live with nature.

The living volumes are enclosed by brushed anodized aluminum and 5 different types of natural stones. Aluminum panels reflect soft light into the space of deep valley, which has swimming pool like a stream on the bottom. The terraces, courtyard and gardens, where people see and touch in the life, have various natural stones. The materials and details create life with nature in contemporary way.

Material Used :

1. Granite Stone – Facade Cladding

2. Brushed Anodized Aluminum Panels – Facade Cladding

3. Aggregate Stone - Facade Cladding

4. Ceramic Tiles – Facade Cladding
