Top design at the tip of the harbour

GROHE as Manufacturers

An exposed location, extraordinary standards and top design – these are the hallmarks of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Düsseldorf. Built on the tip of a narrow strip of land, the hotel affords a perfect view of the city’s buzzing Media Harbour from every room. Upon completion of the project in mid-December 2010, guests of the 5-star hotel can choose from 290 high-quality rooms and 13 comfortable suites.

studio architects, a Düsseldorf-based architectural firm, was in charge of product development. They specialise in the planning of hotels and have already completed a large number of outstanding projects. In cooperation with industrial partners, studio architects created four sample rooms to present the different options for the operator of the hotel.

In close coordination with the project developers, GROHE customised some of its products to meet the specific requests of the planners. The Allure faucet line supplies the water on the wash basins as a stylish 3-hole installation. The spout and the control levers are normally connected via a cover plate – but not in this case. Thanks to the special solution provided by GROHE, the elements are placed individually on the wash basin. Free-standing and 4-hole variants of Allure are used on the bath tubs in the 13 suites.

GROHE also created a special solution for the Grohtherm 3000 Cosmopolitan thermostats in the showers. The symbols for switching from hand shower to overhead shower have been enlarged to ensure that spectacle-wearers can operate them easily and safely even without glasses. The Rainshower® overhead showers and the Relexa Duo hand showers afford an excellent showering experience, while Lineare single-lever mixers ensure that the bath tubs are filled reliably and in style.

All of the hotel’s WCs are flushed by softly pressing the stylish Skate actuation plate on the Rapid SL elements with two-volume flush.

High-quality GROHE fittings were specified also for the public sanitary facilities. Europlus E on the wash basins and electronic urinal flushes use infrared detection technology to ensure that water flows only as needed.
