Inca Cross

This cross was jointly designed by Richard Marti & Claudio Bottero. It was made as a focal point for an Inca Garden that was inspired by Richard's numerous visits to the Sacred Valley in Peru. It was made in such a way that it could be dismantled and easily transported to any location, as the total weight of the cross along is 750kg. It's made from 100m square solid steel bar, which was forged into shape using a large power hammer. It has been very skillfully made, with an incredible degree of accuracy, which reflects the megalithic stone work that you see all over Peru. It is fixed together with Stainless Steel pins, and covered with Gold Leaf. The base is a limstone rock found locally in the Alpine region of Glarus. It was hand cut by Richard with a diamond blade saw.
