It is part of our history to associate freedom with living in the shade of a tree; to use that space, its smells, and its colors. In Iporanga, the Atlantic Forest suggests this to us. We chose this metaphor to make it our home, the place to welcome family and friends. The geometric tree, with its large canopy, covers the entire space of the house. From both inside and outside, we can always see the entire roof, like a leafy crown. On the ground floor, everything is integrated with the Atlantic Forest, maintaining a sense of permeability.
It is essential to see the shades of green, the trail of the agouti, and hear the song of the birds. The house navigated all the difficulties of legislation to harmonize with the surrounding environment. The windows are mashrabiyas, which protect the interiors of the rooms. The kitchen, the veranda, and the dining room are integrated, simplifying their functions. To welcome those who arrive, we placed a steel sculpture, symbolizing the strength and resilience that permeate the soil of our homeland. Like the deep roots of a tree, the house connects the sea to the fertile soil of Minas Gerais.
