On the top floor of the Hilton Sorrento Palace, there is a wonderful terrace with a panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples which host the summer place of the J - Japanese Contemporary Restaurant. The most important design was to try to make this unique scenario available to all guests.
The design of this space is inspired equally by both Japanese cultures, linked to the identity of the proposed cuisine, and by the Mediterranean elements that characterise this place. The Iroko wood staves, the leitmotiv of the J restaurants, are the backdrop to the long wooden and white marble counter that houses both the mixology bar and the sushi bar. The white and soft curtains moved by the wind that protects the terrace from the summer sun recall the sinuous movement of the sea waves. Roda furnishings, chairs, sofas, and rugs together with bespoke tables combined with the Viabizzuno lighting evoke Mediterranean terraces on summer evenings illuminated by overhead catenaries. Finally, the design of the green area was taken care of by integrating wood and metal partitions with Atelier Vierkant material vases.
