After an intensive search for just the right piece of property near Sao Paulo, our new clients, a mature couple, found the perfect location in Itu, and built a lovely weekend home in a valley bottom at a remote area in a condominium. From the glass living room, they can be in contact with nature and wildlife, and even see animals such as lizards, birds and small wild mammals.
With their life experience they knew exactly what they wanted in a clean, functional décor that was easy to maintain. It’s in total juxtaposition with their main residence, located in the heart of Sao Paulo just two blocks from MASP and providing all the essentials for life in this megacity.
Their new residence should provide the ideal escape for both body and mind, and be tranquil, restful and simple yet done with the taste, sophistication and comfort that is essential to them.
The unique design features and accoutrements are influenced by their particular interest in ‘movies’. Fine joinery was made to accommodate their large screen TV and store their extensive collection of films and videos. The beautiful wood paneling design also accommodates a biofuel fireplace and the beautiful armchair Sunshine. The welcoming space is warmed with the addition of By Kamy oriental rugs and Orlean wallpaper.
Perfectly positioned, opposite the wood paneling, is a Natuzzi lounge sofa with retractable back, in stellar blue leather that provides a wonderfully comfortable central location for watching their favorite film classics and also reflects their interest in astronomy.
Adjacent, the dining room features a solid wood table combined with Micasa black chairs and outstanding Beat Light Stout illumination by Tom Dixon. A luxurious sideboard in blue lacquer is positioned to provide storage for service utensils and crystal vases from the renowned Swedish factory Kosta Boda.
This special residence perfectly connects design, form and function. Whether it’s a family film festival, an intimate dinner with friends, or sharing a fabulous bottle of wine it’s the perfect environment while viewing the cosmos with their computerized telescope.
