Mandeville Canyon House

After an extensive search with clients for a suitable property on which to create their home, and after a rigorous cost analysis, we designed and constructed a ground up two story house set atop the existing foot print of an existing one story ranch house set amongst trees in Mandeville Canyon. A primary focus of our design was on creating human scaled spaces and providing an intimate connection between house interiors and natural landscape setting. Our intention has also been to create an enduring classic modern shelter which, with its low slung shed roof and its classic modern application of natural materials playing off the canyon setting, may be seen to reference - and hopefully extend - the work of such local master builders as A. Quincy Jones.
