Spacesmith was enlisted by repeat client MarketAxess to design their new London headquarters. This project was done in collaboration with London design team Denton Associates and PM team CBRE.
Located adjacent to London Wall, the space enjoys spectacular panoramic views and a prized vista of the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral. Taking advantage of this unique setting and adhering to the office standards established by Spacesmith for MarketAxess’ New York headquarters, our team designed a plan with the latest workplace models for open communication, teaming, and efficiency, while securing flexibility for future growth and new business alignments.
Similar to the New York offices, the London materials palette is rich, elegant yet sophisticated and understated. A textured-wood wall wraps the building’s core, painted dark blue in keeping with the MarketAxess corporate colors. Light oak wood paneling frame the centrally located trading space and define the board-room, executive, and client conference rooms and the CEO’s office. All private offices, small gathering rooms and break-out spaces are along the exterior perimeter with floor to ceiling glass fronts, allowing natural light to filter in. Also included is an employee cafeteria, complete with coffee bar, which overlooks the London Wall and the Barbican Center.
Etched glass dividers allow for the major spaces to remain visually connected and enjoy access to daylight, even though located well within the core of the floor plate.
