The former Matino house, once unassuming with its plastered facade and plastic shutters, has been transformed into a spacious refuge to accommodate six residents. The mother now occupies a barrier-free granny flat on the ground floor, while the young family with two children has settled in upstairs. The attic has been converted into a multifunctional studio.

Outdoor areas have been deliberately separated to ensure privacy. The building, now clad in black wood, harmoniously blends into the landscape. The interiors have been designed with natural materials, and the entire building is heated with a modern heat pump. The Matino house demonstrates that existing structures and modern technology, combined with traditional craftsmanship, can create a cozy home that offers timeless comfort.
