The Firestone EPDM roofing membrane was chosen to carry the renovation of the roof of the Mitros meat processing factory in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia.
The original 9,000 m² roof build-up, consisting of concrete elements covered with a bitumen membrane, was deteriorated and needed an extensive renovation.
One of the challenges of this project was that it was not possible to drill the concrete substrate. Therefore, a durable, non-penetrating roofing system was needed. In addition, the shape of the roof required a flexible membrane.
Our local experienced roofing contractor completed the renovation of the roofing system in 60 days.
