The alpine hut Briula is situated obove the community of Valbella on an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. The preservation of the old structure was an essential purpose of the concept, therefore the exterior fassade of the stable remained unaffected. The new volume in the inside has a strong geoemtric form which is different to the old stable. This volume creates a harmonic field of force and sculpture. The project origins in the interplay between inside and outside, in the beauty of the wooden structure with interessting light effects and the impressive panoramic view of the mountain scenery of Lenzerheide.
