WITH A SEA FRONT VIEW TO BOTAFOGO BAY, STARQ TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE BUILDING CONCEIVED BY OSCAR NIEMEYER TO DESIGN THE NEW OFFICE OF TECH'S GIANT 'HUAWEI' IN THE CITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO.
Located in Rio de Janeiro, the architecture project of tech's giant Huawei was signed by STARQ.
Huawei, a Chinese multinational and global leader in technology information and communication solutions, has offices in more than 170 countries and regions, besides different states in Brazil.
For this project, the architects took advantage of the building, conceived by Oscar Niemeyer, to create spaces that could be seized in the office. One of the highlights of the project is the privileged view that Huawei's staff and clients have of Christ the Redeemer.
The office has broad and open collaborative areas, where natural light and beautiful landscapes were there to be enjoyed by all. Following the curves that were inspired by the ocean waves, spaces were created to hold meetings, in which it is possible to share the technologies of Huawei with its clients.
In its materiality, the project mixes elements in warm tones (such as wood and plants) and cold (such as rocks and metals). This solutions makes the environment cozy, without losing its modernity.
The project follows the brand's guidelines in colors, textures and furniture, but the architects had an opening to, in some spaces, create more distinguished and "national" solutions. The biggest challenge of Huawei's office was to develop an original project following such strict guidelines from the client's manual.
Moreover, it was important to bring interest to the inner areas of the building, since the external view is so attractive.
