A School villa in Kralingen
The Kralingsche School was designed in 1915 in a row of stately villas on the Rozenburg park. One hundred years later, it is still a coveted school for neighbourhood kids. But the school is outdated and asks a thorough renovation with more place for self-education.
In the summer holidays of 2015 and 2016, both the outside and inside are renovated and the building got the necessary attention to rays.
The building received air, light, and space by the new right-wing and remodeling the former gym to a playground. Now, this multipurpose room has a stage for festive occasions.
In the new building are extra toilets, cloakrooms, a second indoor flight route, a team room with pantry, administration and a space for the remedial teacher. Through a new panoramic window, the team room got a magnificent view on the school playground and the park.
The corridor rooms on the first and second floor are changed to bright and open study centers, a perfect place to work quiet outside of the group rooms. New wall openings make it possible to keep visible contact with their own teacher.
On top of the roof shines the tower of the school, an icon of the district. Who look closely will see that also this leaden 'rocket' is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
