Floor with an ocean look: PANDOMO decorative floors

Pandomo as Manufacturers

The “Bei Frau Nanna” restaurant in the hip east end of Frankfurt needed a new floor. The owners wanted a design with an ocean look. This special colour was realised using the PANDOMO Studio designer filler during renovation – and now gives the locale a very special, Mediterranean atmosphere.

Since it was a case of repairing the old floor, the height dimensions were already defined by the entrance and the exit. The doors and aluminium window could not be made shorter. The PANDOMO Studio decorative designer thin-layer levelling compound from Ardex was therefore used. Because this makes it possible to work in different colours using several filler layers. The problem of the low installation height was also solved with the decorative floor, since PANDOMO Studio is applied with a layer thickness of 1.5 to 3 millimetres.

The craftsmen sprayed blue pigment mixed with water onto the fresh floor and worked it in by means of manual filling. This gave the floor even more depth effect. Advantage of this application technique: PANDOMO Studio is not self-levelling. This makes it possible to control the trowel strokes which are visible afterwards during application.

“The floor is a real eye-catcher!”, is the feedback from the guests after seeing the new ocean look in the restaurant
