We were contacted for the renovation of the attic, belonging to the family home. The request was to redistribute the spaces, in order to obtain a comfortable living / dining area, a well-equipped kitchen area, an eclectic bathroom, with a large shower and finally a master bedroom.
We therefore decided to give noticeable breath and lots of natural light (widening the openings), we lightened the staircase by eliminating the partition that closed it and inserting glass balustrades, which disappeared into the floor. This solution allowed the staircase to receive light up to the entrance, making it naturally illuminated.
Since there is a supporting column in the center, we have succeeded in distributing the furniture very effectively, through the use of a modular sofa, which embraces it and also makes it a piece of furniture. The lighting fixtures inserted are very light to give the sensation that they float in space.
The kitchen area has been designed with a horseshoe shape. In order not to separate the disengagement that we find ourselves down the three steps, we decided to create a custom-made boiserie, in order to perfectly integrate the door to access the bathroom and the door to enter the sleeping area. This lacquered boiserie of the same kitchen finish remains flush with the columns, allowing us to perceive a single space, right from the landing.
The kitchen furniture has been developed in perfect symmetry, valuable appliances have been inserted and it has been cured in all its parts, in order to make it as linear as possible. Lighting was developed in collaboration with the company that makes the track, in order to optimize the work space.
The bathroom has been characterized by wall cladding with slabs of travertine, a series of furniture pieces made on our design, in corten sheet, have been inserted. The large shower has been designed with a head-mounted shower head, with rain and waterfall function. The lighting was completely hidden by means of veils and LED bars. Only on the sink, two suspended luminaires descend.
The master bedroom has been managed with a large bed in the middle of the room, with a headboard that embraces the two glass bedside tables. The lighting fixtures have been designed as a suspension on the back of the bed and the wardrobe has been integrated into a niche.
The flooring of the house in natural oak has been kept the one already present, going to smooth and restore where the walls of the old distribution were, while the dashboard in wengè-stained oak was made from new.
