We propose future planning of Biopol complex as an organism optimized for the production and exchange of knowledge. Being capable of receiving the highest level of architectural innovation as well as becoming the framework that will allow the stimulus to the development of biomedical research.
The building is proposed as a high volume on the ground, leaving a large sunny full of garden meeting porch, respecting the existing garden. The elevation of the floor illuminates this garden and extends its views to the south.
The volume has 6 floors of laboratories. We propose building a fully flexible building: above ground two structural fringes contain the circulations, facilities and services. Among the tracks are located some structural slabs 21 m span of 6 floors that house laboratories. So throughout the area of laboratories there is no vertical easement or pillar set up. This allows the building to fit perfectly to changes in distribution over the time.
A filter wraps the entire volume above ground acting as a technological veil that protects and manages the weather outside lighting and ventilation of areas, gardens and laboratories.
To reduce the energy consumption of the building, the technologic skin that surrounds the building will become a power manager that will act automatically based on external conditions to minimize energy loss and maximize indoor comfort.
