Larsen Waterfront is a new 15-storey building in Aalborg comprising 254 youth apartments. Located right on the Limfjord, the view from the Sky Lounge on the 15th floor is something special.
The Sky Lounge has been decorated by the two artists Leo and Nick Griffin – father and son, respectively. Their work of ark, called Vertical Water, revolves around the concept of water, drawing on inspiration from the Limfjord.
Their beautiful paintings not only lift the room in terms of its aesthetical value, but also provide excellent acoustics as the ‘canvas’ is in fact perforated gypsum boards from Knauf Danoline. Before being fitted with acoustic materials, it was practically impossible to have a conversation in the room.
The Sky Lounge at Larsen Waterfront thus perfectly demonstrates how art and acoustics can be united to create the perfect solution – aesthetically and functionally.
