SM North Edsa bowling center is one of the many chain of bowling alleys that have undergone a major facelift, from its dull and cold fiberglass past, to a cozier and more uplifting present. The challenge for us, especially for such a specific sport/entertainment space, was to strike a balance between creating a striking/fun environment and at the same time, maintain a professional arena to meet certain standard of performance.

The idea was to break the zones up using both ceiling and flooring elements, connecting at specific points to frame up the Bowling zone and to carve out subsidiary functions, like the pool area, pro shop and cafe. The Red feature ceiling extends from the entrance into the bowling alley settee area, wrapping the side walls and continues onto the floor. The glow from the bowling alley pierces through this red ribbon demanding all attention to be on the game.
