The Lagoon House

SHTAIGMAN // Inner Story as Interior Architects

The Lagoon Project is a 150 sqm apartment in the central district of Israel, located on the coastal strip and enjoys a spectacular view. The clients are a couple in their 60's bought this apartment for themselves after all the kids has left home. Being a homie kind of people, the main goal was to create a house that'll feel like vacation even when at home.

The style is Minimal - Modern with a Scandinavian touch. The main element in this apartment is a dark blue cube that contains the kitchen on one hand, and on the other - serves as a corridor to the bedrooms area.

The cube also contains a door at the same color, which leads to the master bedroom. The living room area is defined by the free-standing sofa on one side, and on the other by a custom-made shelving system, specially designed for this project.

The shelving is functional and designed from both sides - one side is the living room - containing the remotes, blankets etc. The other side of the shelving is the home work space, which is minimal as well, and there it contains books and office appliances.

The balcony is 30 sqm and contains a dining table, and a chill sitting area with 2 lounge chairs and a small table. It was important for us to keep the balcony as open and spacious as possible.

The master bedroom continues the clean minimal vibe with a herring bone parquet floor, and a smoked blue wall. A long dresser runs through the entire space and contains extra storage and a nude-colored toilette.
