THE SQUAIRE is unique in many ways – from the location to the architecture and to the innovative NEW WORK CITY concept. THE SQUAIRE is within easy reach from anywhere in the world. It is a landmark building, characteristic for Airport City Frankfurt. Construction started in 2007. The building has been opened to the public in stages from 2011 onwards.

THE SQUAIRE is a pioneering feat in structural engineering and an aesthetic flagship project: Notwithstanding its length of 660 meters and its weight of 350,000 tonnes, it looks agile, shimmering in the sunlight. For the first time ever, a building of this magnitude was raised on top of an ICE high-speed railway station, between two freeways, and on 86 columns. All of it without interrupting the traffic flow.

The innovative use concept “NEW WORK CITY” optimizes the working environment of the people working here by saving time for the relevant things in business and private life, facilitating personal communication, streamlining daily tasks and increasing the feel good factor.

Built from the outside in, the office, hotel, retail and conferencing floor-space needs were easy to accommodate once the aerodynamic exterior was in place. THE SQUAIRE is a fictitious name composed of "square" and "air". A city under one roof: Five atria form the central patios which are surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shops. Business people as well as travelers can relax in a quiet atmosphere far away from the hustle and bustle of the airport. Placed throughout the atria are mobile platforms with sofas, chairs and tables by FueraDentro, which perfectly suit the architectural and open atmosphere of the atria.
