Kinlochlaich House is a listed building with its own beautiful gardens and a specialist garden plant centre set in a 18th century octagonal walled garden.
Our brief was to design an eco treehouse to provide an extra special self-catering holiday experience.
The treehouse sits amongst the trees in an old orchard and is perched on the edge of a ravine above a woodland burn. Designed to be contemporary and green the treehouse has a lime render finish on 'breathing' timber frame walls with arched windows and a Ballachulish slate roof complementing the historic house.
Internally a whole oak tree supports the roof with circular stairs winding up to a gallery. Scottish oak was used extensively for the specialist joinery which was skillfully executed by Nor-Build.
