Project Detail: Scope of work included Level of Detailing (LOD500 ) till Facility management according to AIA standards for University Hospital building in the UAE. It also included Mechanical , electrical and plumbing as well as architecture and structural services including infrastructure. Interdisciplinary clash detection and construction simulation along with quantity ,scheduling and material take off . Challenges: Short turnaround time is the biggest challenge as construction already started on site. We were ready to take the challenge on the project and started integrating all disciplines within a strict deadline. We have provided on shore and off shore support to get faster collaboration. Execution: BIM provided the Constructors with a visual communication which helps to assist all the stakeholders in a project. During the initial tendering stage of a project it provides the Contractor with a means to visually show a client how he intends to construct the project, and what considerations he has provided for within his design and price that best suit the clients 'needs. The preparation of the model within the tender process also enables the contractor to understand and challenge the designers’ details. BIM will also provide the ability for contractors to abstract material quantities from the model. This enables the contractor to accurately measure and quantify the elements of the structure efficiently and to a greater degree of detail than previously available. Finally company ended up being an excellent service provider and an innovative trusted offshore business partner. Client was the main contractor for this project and wanted to find out all inter discipline clashes before starting the construction these helped him to finish construction on time as per tender deadline and saving of money. In summary, the benefits to client were: - As-built BIM information for operations, maintenance, and facility management purposes. - Building information needed for O&M and FM purposes was not the building’s geometry, but consists of text. - It provided a framework for building owners to specify the content and scope of electronic as-built record deliverable
