At the Cannes Boat show 2015, the Van der Valk shipyard announced the development and sales of a new model, the Continental Two, a 27-metre motor yacht. Since then, the yard has begun the construction of this fast displacement yacht, designed by Guido de Groot. Built entirely out of aluminium, she features a round bilge and a bulbous bow, which is a novel feature that effectively extends the waterline, boosting performance and efficiency without being obviously visible, as it remains submerged.
She will have tender storage on the generously sized bathing platform instead of the conventional location on the flybridge as it is traditional on other yachts from this builder. This in turn will free space on the flybridge, allowing for the area to become a beautiful leisure space. The foredeck also has been designed to provide further social and sunbathing opportunities. The large lazarette meanwhile will be home to a large selection of water toys and diving equipment. The interior, also designed by Guido de Groot’s studio, is very spacious, thanks in part to the 6.72 metre beam and the studio’s optimisation of the space. The yacht will incorporate generous lounge spaces and well proportioned accommodation. The latter will consist of an Owner’s suite, a VIP suite, two guest cabins and a double crew cabin. Delivery for this yacht is expected to be in the spring of 2017.
