Founded by Hooman Balazadeh in 2007, Hooba Design Group is an architectural and interior design practice based in Tehran. The studio aims to design and develop projects aligned to the cultural, historical, climatic, and geographical characteristics of the context, by redefining and enriching the vernacular architecture based on contemporary requirements. Ranging from interiors to city-scale projects, the goal is to create an expandable pattern to work within and beyond its boundaries as a developed typology. Considering each project as a continuous developmental step toward reflecting the architectural concerns has led to the formation and consolidation of the office's discipline. In the organization of each project, Hooba Design Group, as an award-winning group having the RIBA, Dezeen, Architizer & WAF in its background, finds the answer lies in creating a harmonious relationship between the antithetical parts and components. Giving a new definition to the material, which used to have a static character as a component, enables us to extend its new and unique qualities to the whole project and beyond, by becoming an expandable pattern in its surrounding fabric and urban context. By Taking the world of each project into account, Hooba's design seeks to develop spatial diagrams by implementing nonphysical parameters as well as physical ones, such as light, brightness, and perspective, to turn the human experience of space into a moderate state between interdisciplinary issues and the empiricism of the various qualities of the constant dialectics of dualities. Also, the same developmental strategy is implemented in its culture. We believe that training our colleagues as a long-term investment in group learning and through workshops has enabled us to reach new capabilities while experiencing the unique roadmaps of the projects. As a result, this constant growth of our diverse group reflects and enriches the process of the projects in various aspects.
