Located in a traditional neighborhood in the city of São Paulo, this building is part of a set of constructions from the mid-twentieth century that stands out for its architectural and structural quality. Occupying the entire floor and with a good original arrangement, the apartment had several spatial qualities that we tried to maintain when renovating it.

The sleeping area was almost ready. We kept the rooms´ organization and only worked to update the design of the closets and bathrooms. The focus of the intervention was on the social and service area, integrating the spaces and adjusting their dimensions in order to meet the new residents´s needs.

To mark the intervention and mediate the relationship between service and living room, the kitchen was thought of as an autonomous box inside the room. Detached from the original structure, this new, apparently hermetic and dark element can open, revealing its bright interior and integrating the living room with the kitchen.
