Designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects, the most circular utility building in the Benelux has been realized here. For example, the awning is made of recycled construction parts from the old HAVEP building, and the 1,100 wooden Iroko planks on the facade come from another special donor building; the monumental Tripolis buildings at the Amsterdam Zuidas. The other materials are mainly biobased and recyclable. For example, the wooden supporting structure is fully demountable. Through the use of flax as an insulation source, the use of 1,200 existing and 400 new solar panels and heat pumps, the building is energy neutral. Recycled materials were also used in the interior. In the new warehouse, the existing shelving is used, also the furniture and lights are partly taken.

Wilma Bloot, CEO HAVEP: "This unique location combines the rich history of HAVEP with our strategy. It has become a future-proof 'home' for our sustainable collections. The atmosphere and modern facilities make it an inspiring place for our employees, customers and partners. Here we can together give substance to the innovations in the textile sector."

HAVEP's new company building is flexible in use. The shape of the building, the construction and the installation system are designed so that changes can easily be made to the building in the future without having to demolish parts.

The Vanhulley studio will also be located in the new building. Through this collaboration, women with a distance to the labor market will receive training.

Paul de Ruiter, architect: "The new company building of HAVEP is a trendsetter in the field of circular and bio-based construction. At HAVEP the focus is on people. By making optimal use of daylight, views of the green surroundings and a layout that encourages movement and meeting, HAVEP's new building also contributes to the well-being of its users."
Land of Anna
At the old location of HAVEP, a new residential area is being built and the area has been redesigned. The industrial heritage is being integrated. In the district "Land of Anna" there will be a mix of 180 sustainable homes including 42 social housing units.

Guus van Puijenbroek, director of VP Capital: "We have a strong connection with Goirle for over 150 years and have been able to mean a lot to each other. As a family we want to accelerate sustainable progress with our investments. The realization of this circular HAVEP business location by VP Vastgoed is an example of our vision. With the redevelopment of the former location on Bergstraat into a residential area, we also want to give concrete substance to this. The locations bring together working, living and sustainability. Thanks to the constructive cooperation with all stakeholders, we are realizing leading, future-proof and socially relevant new places in Goirle."
