The young family needed more room for the kids to grow and adding a flexible space that could serve all of the family became a big priority. A 340sf addition created a new primary suite complete with a walk-through closet. Clerestory windows allow natural light to filter through the open closet area just behind the bed, creating a restful area for the parents.
The former primary bedroom is now a play area and home office, completely open to the living space. When guests come to stay, the flex space converts into a comfortable bedroom by a unique double pocket sliding door design. The larger reconfigured kitchen added more counter space and a much needed defined entry area. Custom built-ins provide functional storage to drop off backpacks, shoes, and coats, while a standing bar welcomes guests into the home. An interior teak tile wall and custom security screen in the atrium make this Eichler truly unique.
