Residential building located on a plot at Travessia Prat de la Riba in Sant Climent de Llobregat. It consists of seven apartments with front and rear facades. This layout allows for cross ventilation and ample natural light. Del Rio Bani On one side, the street-facing facade features a composition of sliding windows combined with wooden slats that, in some areas, provide shade to the apartments. Together, they create longitudinal patches that offer a formal order to the facade. On the other hand, the rear facade opens onto a public garden area through balconies, where wooden slats also serve as a formal element. The site is unfortunately placed under the effect of three completely different urban plans. This means that the plot has conflicting parameters and it needs to be reevaluated in order to solve these conflicts. Therefore the project starts with a specific modification of the urban plan to adjust the urban parameters, the building's density and its uses. This is a compact single-family home, built at the northwestern edge to maximize the garden space facing the best views. BJ Arquitectes BJ Arquitectes The building is situated on a very small plot and, unlike the neighboring structures, it does not fully utilize the buildable area and instead integrates with the terrain. Located inside a 100-year-old building, the apartment had never undergone any substantial modification. It had been kept in quite good condition having preserved still intact the original mosaic floors and decorative ceiling mouldings. The history and charm of this 100 years old apartment attracted the owners that wished to renovate it without losing the atmosphere of the existing elements. The building houses indoor athletic activities such as 100m race or long jump modalities, and is used mostly to develop specific trainings for high performance athletes and to supply a heated space to warm up and reduce injuries.​The shape of the building is defined by the footprint of the plot where is located, on one of the edges of the stadium, adjoining the athletics track on one side and aligned the streetwalk on the other side, while entrances are located on both short sides.​The structure and the envelope mainly define the design. The Barcelona International Convention Centre consists of a large hall (15.000 m2, 80m of structural lighting) that can be divided and a block for associated services that looks out to sea. The hall is both structure and abstraction; the exterior block talks to the sea and the sky. The structure is a musical score of reference. The climate, the light (and opposite, shade) and sound (and its opposite, silence) have shaped the plot.
