This house was designed as a single-family home into a private-residential area in the suburbs of Merida, the capital of the Mexican state of Yucatan. In order to achieve efficiency in cost-energy consumption, the layout arrangement of the spaces assures cross ventilation, optimal day-light as well as direct sun protection due a carefully sized openings in congruency with simple-detached volumes and façade-language. Materials and finished were selected in order to optimize also the need of intense care/maintenance of the construction due the strong climate conditions of severe heat and high humidity during most of the year.
