Villa Lombardo

High above Lake Lugano in Ticino, Switzerland, this Villa is set in fantastic surroundings with a stunning view. The house consists of four levels, which all have to be crossed before reaching the top located residential area. The aim was to gain the best benefit of the unique panoramic view and bring it, as far as possible, into the building. Therefore, the living area was located in the top level. Its spaciousness merges visually with the overwhelming nature. The Balcony railing outside consists of a wisp of nothing - frameless fixed glass panels. One level down, the bedrooms open up to the terrace equipped with an outdoor shower and overflow pool, whose water surface seems to merge with the surrounding nature and the lake. A wooden sun de... More

Forsan Central

Forsan Central inspiration has been taken from a bamboo forest to create a “Garden in the City” theme. The natural reference has been adopted playfully on the building’s distinctive façade through a sequence of vertical green and brown coated aluminium pipes that recall the image of a forest. It is also present inside the building with cafés, bars and restaurants immersed in a green park under one of the region’s largest geodetic skylights, that will ultimately give the whole project an outdoor feel. Villa H

In the transition region of a typical Dutch village and the cultivated agricultural landscape, on a plot of approximately 6 ha is the ensemble a modern villa and a horse stable, based on the strict requirements of the zoning plan, embedded in the context. Both the proportions, as the graded volume and the use of design elements together with an independent architectural language tie in with the traditional elements of a house of the Brabant region. Since the desired space program within the guidelines of the development plan could not be implemented above the ground, a design concept is developed, which based on the modeling of the landscape enables to create attractive spaces in the basement. At the same time the house is designed from the... More

Casa 103

A column of natural light as a core element turns a house into a living object. 103 house in Algarve, Portugal, depicts a different perspective. Squeezed between two traditional neighbourhood fishermen´s houses, the limited front width led the Studio to develop the new project inwardly. The architects have made the most of formerly adverse disposition: the sloping and irregular topography has been fully exploited in virtue of spatial colonization that allows for the extension of the different enclosed rooms beyond their indoor limits. Several terraces climbing up the terrain stretch and enhance the visual connection of the different parts of the house and, ultimately, from the upper levels to the horizon. The rich scenography and... More

X HOUSE

The X HOUSE was designed in rather extraordinary circumstances. Before any design work started, the client commissioned a series of talks/discussions on architecture with our team. During the meetings we discussed and analyzed many various houses from all around the world. The aim was, on one hand, to provide a wide context for the work, and on the other – to get to know better the needs of the client and his family. These architecture sessions allowed us to set the framework for the future house quite precisely. The X house is not only supposed to serve as a comfortable living space for the family of four, but also to allow each of the family members to pursue their individual passions. Therefore, on top of the regular scope of a single fa... More

Villa N

Villa N, a house for a young family is realized on a plot on the hillside with views of the meadows, pastures and forests of the landscape Bergische Land. The L-shaped building volume shows itsself extrovert to the south, the garden and the views and at the same time shields itself off with a soft elegant movement of white plastered walls to the buildings in the neighborhood. A deep, two storey high cut in the facade marks in a subtle way the entrance and provides in the closed facade the visual relation between interior and exterior. The building lives of the harmonious interaction of open glass-aluminum facades, white plastered, rounded wall surfaces and far cantilevered roofs. This makes the appearance of the building volume dynamic and... More

Acoustic gaskets and a door seal in the door leaf are of major importance to contribute to the acoustic door system. For the public application, the acoustic is combined with sophisticated ergonomics. Applying the RF180 handle, we obtain an optimal ergonom... More

house––02

Project house#02 is the result of a 90 square meter apartment renovation of a young couple living in Milan. The theme develops around the centre corridor of the house, a classic of the late ‘60s buildings such as this one, disengaging all the rooms. It was decided to start from and widen the corridor, and to obtain a greater sense of three-dimensionality through the doors, which stand in a sort of ‘portal’: aligned to the inner corner of each room when closed, placed in the depth of the compartment when open. Each niche is dipped into light by individual spotlights. These elements drew the lead for various tailored solutions, including kitchen, shower and wardrobes. The choice of materials was pretty straightforward. The neu... More

Eindhoven Strijp S / Gebouw Gerard

The urban master plan and the expressed departure points formulated within the master plan formed the starting points for the integration of new functions and the associated design for ‘Gerard’. The transformation concept for ‘Gerard’ is in line with the distinctive core values of the context, the factory buildings of the ‘Hoge rug’. These being: the strong structural basis, the structural skeleton, the modular articulation in the façade, the functionality and flexibility of the plan, wherein the structure of the building takes the lead. The approach of the design can be referred to as a structuralistone, it has developed a grammar based on the structure of the main construction. With this grammar and by introducing air and light, i... More

Field of Flower

Inspiration: The idea actually comes from the sunflower. I always have an interest in them. They follow the sun during the day rotating their faces to their precious. This project was born from that idea. The design and the rotating specification of the project integrates with nature from that aspect. Unique Properties / Project Explanation: Structures usually of villa style are positioned in nature, but settlements of the villas generally tend to cover the soil/earth. And this prevent the soil from breathing in, as well as from meeting with the rain. And the distinguishing aspect of this project is that the structure resting on the bearing bases of arch or semi-arch character has a reduced impact on the soil. These bearing bases ensure t... More
