ALEA RESORT HIDEAWAY architecture

The ALEA RESORT hideaway is a sophisticated piece of architecture in the centre of Bad Orb near Frankfurt. The property is situated on a slope and looks down on one of the most beautiful spa parks in the area. In the late 18th century, salt was extracted from the brine in Bad Orb. A graduation tower from that time is a spectacular wooden construction in the immediate vicinity. It is one of the most rewarding tasks as an architect when you are allowed to design not only the interior of a building, but the building itself! This villa is located in a town with a history of over 40 years, where most of the buildings were traditionally single-story. The previous building on this site was also single-story and was valued by its owner for its close connection between the interior spaces and the courtyard, as well as its human-scale proportions suitable for those in the garden. This residence is designed for a couple and their child. The site is situated in a residential area carved into the mid-slope of a mountain. The eastern side of the site faces a cliff, offering distant views of the mountains and a panoramic vista of the town below. It is also located in a region with a close-knit community.
