The new building for the Central Fine Collection Agency (CJIB) is a striking and timeless building to house a comfortable and modern working environment. The building is open, light and transparent. The maximally open façade of the offices has a second skin to meet all the criteria for climatisation, comfort and sustainability. This second skin consists of narrow, curved glass panels and is draped around the volume like an ethereal veil. Since the building is raised above a half-sunken parking facility and has rounded corners, it seems to float about its green surroundings. The new CJIB building is a specific building with generic qualities. The building has optimal flexibility. Instead of a standard office layout with rooms, corrid... More

London Business School - The Sammy Ofer Centre

Sheppard Robson was commissioned by London Business School to create a state-of-the-art teaching centre in the Grade II listed Old Marylebone Town Hall and Library Annexe. The design includes the insertion of a glazed entrance foyer linking the two buildings, and a new lecture theatre block. The period buildings will be completely refurbished, retaining the ceremonial rooms in the Council House for use by Westminster Registrar’s Office. The glazed link will have a distinctive impact on the Marylebone Road elevation, reflecting the new use. While complementing the historic and architectural interest of the existing buildings, the link will also create a dynamic entrance to the Business School. A new teaching block will replace the 1960... More

Central Plaza

The Central Plaza is the first building of such scale to utilize double cooled facades with natural ventilation. The central volume is made up of an oval Tower with 14 floors of offices, this tower is adjacent to a triangular extension. On most of the office floors large atriums open up the space and bring light into the building. The facade in light and smooth glass covers the atriums and accentuates the oval of the original volume. The building is located in the heart of Brussels and is located near the important transit roads and attractions of the city. It is the first building in Brussels of this size to apply double cool facade technology with natural ventilation. This allows for the windows to be opened, also on the higher floors, to... More

House Brian

This house was transformed from a 1970s home into a modernist villa. For the additions and alterations the interior walls were removed and an atrium and moat were created around the hall and dining room, with a curtain of water falling past a cut-out in the atrium wall. The outcome of the architectural design is a contemporary home with a double volume living space that opens seamlessly on a 13x6m lanai area. The water feature in the atrium adds the sound of flowing water to the living rooms and is visible from almost everywhere in the living and kitchen areas. The kitchen forms the hub of the home with an open space that is ideal for gatherings. Situated next to the kitchen is the breakfast room and atrium that allows morning light i... More
