BKKDW is the abbreviated name for Bangkok Design Week, one of the largest art, craft, and design exhibitions in Bangkok, which has been marked out on the Bangkok event calendar every year. Organized by the Creative Economy Agency or CEA with over 60 participants and 2,000 designers and creative businesses, it’s divided into four districts – Charoenkrung-Songwat, Samyan, Ari-Pradipat, and Thonglor-Ekamai. Ango has joined Bangkok Design Week since 2019, exhibiting in the Charoenkrung district and also exhibiting exclusive designs with Design and Objects Association (D&O Association) firstly at the Old Post Office in 2019, OP Place in 2020, and in 2021 in a unique collaborative exhibition at River City, Bangkok. The Fish Trap is an ancient vessel. In the past, it served as a tool for catching fish. Then, as it was no longer used, it became a symbol that bears lost culture in museums and literature. In this piece, we tried to take this vessel and reproduce it with different dimensions and appearances. The artist FENG focused on the memories of the handicraft and the unique spatial experience that is perceived with the body to create a one-of-a-kind Fish Trap House so the vessel has a chance to hold all kinds of possibilities and imagination. Can Poly Products produce curved wall panels that have a embossed tulip-surface? And can you make them fire-resistant? With these questions Fokkema Architects aproached us. THe design was for the IGZ office in Amsterdam. Using Materworks we provided the answer. The panels were all handmade on a special adjustable silicone mould. The surface includes an embossed surface showing tulips using angles and shade.  More

These 14m high columns were handmade using translucent composites. Designed by NIO-architects and produced by Poly Products, they create a unique look of the intersection Hogeweg/Buurtas in Amersfoort. Using a 3D-milled mould the columns were made as a single piece element. Inside the base of the columns LED-spots light up the columns at night creating a magical look.  More

The façade of the Olympic Hotel in Amsterdam is fitted with Masterworks elements. These edges give the building a solid stone look without the weight of stone: one element of 5 meter in length can easily be lifted by just 2 people! The hotel is part of the development of the 'Sportas' and will connect the Olympic Area with the sport facilities in the Schinkeleilanden such as the Frans Otten Stadium and Sporthallenzuid. All façade elements were handmade in custom moulds. Masterworks, the material used, provides a unique combination of low weight, high fire-class and unique look and shape.  After very gently sand-blasting the surface a stone-like finish has been achieved.    More

In the middle of the Kalverstraat, Lego opened a giant Flagstore with a unique facade. No Lego-bricks on the outside, but very special Masterworks panels with a scalepatern. For the design inrpiration came from a high façade-plinth dating back to 1906, using vertical elements and a pronounced roof edge. All the new panels were handmade  on 3D-milled moulds. Masterworks, the used material, combines a low weight with a high fire-class and unique look and shape. The internal glass-fibers provide high strength. More

23 translucent composite canopies make up the main bus station in Aalst. These massive elements each rest on a single steel column. Designed by belgian architects RAUM-architecten together with Util-Struktuurstudies, they were fabricated by Poly Products in 2016. Each single canopy measures 13,5 x 2 x1,5 m and is fully made of fiber-reinforced composite. Poly Products carried out the detail-engineering and production in-house. The unique honeycomb core was handmade and gives the canopies their unique translucent look while making them very strong. Translucent parts were never made in this scale before. More

Ango is selected for the interior lighting at the unique Garden Atlas Phuket project, one of the luxury pool villa collections by Phustone. The villas are located in a quiet area on the west coast of Phuket at Bangtao beach (Cherngtalay). Sarawut Kreuawan, the project founder who is also the project architect, has a vision of creating customised spaces for customers where they can create their own mood and feel in each space, so as to make every villa unique for each end-user.
