The 2x Glass Vases employ highly skilled techniques to explore material extremes and push conventional boundaries in the realm of glass blowing. To create the vases, broken glass is incorporated into a free form glass bubble. The glass is then mouth blown and through a repetitive process of heating and hand molding, the once sharp shards of glass become blunt and sculpturally integrated into the form. The opening of the vase is cut and polished just above the glass gather line– where the molten glass accumulates prior to being shaped– honoring both skill and process. Two distinct finishing techniques combine to create a sculptural reflection in the 2x Aluminum Mirror. Melding highly skilled hand finishing processes with advanced machining techniques, the 2x Aluminum Mirror is made from a single sheet of 1/4” Aluminum. The Rock Pendants feature undulating glass forms that appear to move like molten glass in the sparkle of the Edison-style bulbs. All pendants are available as individual pendants, or can be built into chandeliers in any shape, or built into either pre-existing or custom track structures. There are 2 variations on the Rock shape: the tri-Rock or the quad-Rock. Standard sizes are 10.5″ h for the small tri-Rock, 17″ h for the large tri-Rock; and 8.5″ h for the small quad-Rock, 12″ h for the large quad-Rock. Fixtures options: brushed nickel, white, or black. This outdoor setting, was inspired by two elements from a Japanese rock garden – a naturally worn “skipping” stone, and sharp, vertical stems of bamboo. The lightweight, Tasmanian Oak dowel base is strong through its natural, triangular structure. Its crisp airiness contrasts with the solid cast “stone” top, which incorporates recycled rubber crumb for texture and toughness. The seat is contoured for comfort, whilst the table is flat for function. A different aspect from every direction, this organic setting has tension between its elements. Inspired by a dollop of cream falling gently off a spoon, I wanted to create a sensual, organic pendant light full of contrasts. Asymmetric but perfectly balanced, matt on the outside, glossy on the inside, narrow at the top and voluminous at the bottom. A 7W warm white LED globe hidden from sight, indirectly illuminates the large space below. Made from an earthenware ceramic slip casting, two lights work well together as a pair. A result of exploring curved folds in paper, these fun, outdoor stools are made from 1.6mm thick expanded steel mesh. Simple to fabricate (no welding required - just folding and bolting) the edging of the mesh is hemmed for strength and safety. The curvature and spring nature of the seat creates effective comfort.
