Metal mesh

The site is located at the side of an elevated highway near Haneda Airport. It The pace is at the corner defined by the crossing of two roads. The neighborhood townscape doesn't show any continuity. We are required to design the architecture in such an uncomfortable environment. The architecture is composed of the closed space to catch silence. In a rectangular box is divided by two slits. The interval between those parts leads the air, the wind and the light into the office itself. The project is an eight storey residential block in the area keramikos gazi located at the centre of Athens. The area of Gazi used to be an industrial estate primarily housing a gas factory located there since 1850. The area was restored and renovated since the arrival of the metro line and the Olympic Games. The old gas factory was turned in to ‘technopolis’ a multi -space dedicated to cultural and artistic events and the area transformed gradually into an ambiguous urban, core hosting numerous nightclubs and fashionable restaurants. The headquarter offices for the ING Group occupies a long, narrow site adjacent to the motorway ring around Amsterdam. The location is at the junction of two areas, the cosmopolitan high-rise of Zuidas and the green zone of De Nieuwe Meer. The building has been kept low on the green side, with the cantilevered auditorium as a projecting element, and rises towards the urban side. The building rests on stilts measuring 9 to 12,5 metres in height, so that travellers on the motorway still have a glimpse of the area behind the building. Floating site on the river This site, where is floating on river and confronted the graceful landscape, was strongly recognized to me as a part of nature, from the first time that I met. From then, I started to visualize "the architectural nature" as a place of recreation.
