La Spada, Florence

La Spada restaurant is located in the heart of Florence. The project consists in the refurbishment of the existing part, completely modified, and the addition of a new part with a total area of 450 sqm. The pecularity of the interiors, spaces connected together as the result of expansion during the years, offered the possibility to create different areas. The “trait d’union” of the project is the design of the furniture, all custom-made, and the materials selected for them. Furniture, in cort-en and oak wooden elements, are combined with Tuscan tiles (produced with special components to add a brownish tone), resin and industrial parquet floor. Different floorings are identified and connected by a stainless steel frame on t... More

Hotel Granbaita Dolomites*****

The Hotel Granbaita is a third-generation family-run hotel located in the centre of Selva in the Val Gardena, surrounded by the impressive peaks of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. The area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been a popular holiday destination for international holidaymakers for decades, both in summer and in winter.  Since its construction in the 1960s, the house has undergone countless structural extensions, modernizations and restructurings, but in 2019, as part of a core renovation, it was time to give the main building – including reception, bar and dining room, as well as the wellness area – a uniform design and an architecturally contemporary appearance.  The existing balconies and wooden cla... bread station bialik

The Bread Station coffee shop was operating for several years in a small space, until the adjacent store was vacated and we were able to expand and renovate the existing space according to the design style of the entire Bread Station brand. The main checkout counter, is now featuring a new glass fronted cabinet displaying sandwiches and pizzas and above it are cylinder shaped light fixtures. Instead of using the wooden beams that existed in the old and low space, new black painted wooden beams were designed and hung diagonally to accommodate the new high ceiling. These beams help maintain the industrial style that suits the brand's “train station-like” atmosphere . The counter is covered with a blackened mirror with a matte bl... More

Private Apartment in historical centre of Vienna

Renovation of a completely desolate, in the 70s insensitively adapted apartment, with a typical floor plan of 1900 urban developments. Even though the apartment was in a very bad condition, major parts of it were reconstructed in accordance to guidelines for historical buildings, without it being under preservation order. Interventions are to be noticed only in the entrance/ kitchen/ bathroom/ toilet area. The old corridor was removed to make room for the new central kitchen. Behind the new black magnetic coated wall hides the new enlarged bathroom, the wardrobe and a guest’s toilet.   The new black magnetic coated wall is not only the analogue communication platform of the family but also highlights the serving character of th... AC HOUSE

Living in the town does not necessarily mean living as usual, but understanding what it implies. This house does not pretend to be different from what happens in its surroundings but it proposes to reflect on how a house should be in the town today, respecting tradition and reducing its energy consumption to a minimum.   The starting point, a family that wants to enjoy the outdoors, their own exterior and a spatial flexibility that allows them to live the entire floor together, undoing the limits of the space to be able to freely explore it. A service ground floor allows the day area to be raised to a level that avoids external noise and achieves adequate light and clarity.   In it, the house is developed around a central pati... More

Vivienda Madreselva

This is a family residence built on the coastal town of Salinas, Asturias, on a small trapezoid-shaped lot located between two different residential zones, a townhouse complex and a single-family residence. The project tries to harmonize these conditioning circumstances by following the property lines on the townhouses on Madreselva Street, and also the clearance that is customary in the case of single-family residences facing the wide-open space of the Deva Park. The reponse to this is a home with asymmetrical “L” shape, which generates an indoor space with the main living areas being open facing the most adequate direction. The more private pedestrian access is provided through Madreselva Street, in the direction of the downto... More

Moorenweis

In order to preserve the typical farmhouse character of this ensemble during renovation, the intricate room structures of the residential wing were left largely unchanged. The preservation of the historical structures, notably the roof truss, but above all the creation of a variety of different interior ambiances offer a unique living experience.   The connection between the residential building and the former stables make for intense contrasts, especially in the open attic floors, where black steel elements complement the supporting wood structures. The atmosphere of the rooms is dominated by long, handmade oak timbers. Natural materials and subtle, muted colors make the old and the new fuse into a natural union. In spite of extensi... More

Montjuic Apartment

This project consists in an apartment renovation located in the Montjuïc district of Barcelona. A new domestic atmosphere is created through a poetic composition of white frames that diffuse natural light. This fluid space formed by a sequence of rooms harmonize with the presence of wood, light and plants.   The original dwelling was totally compartmentalized by rooms barely connected to each other. The first intention is to open the space, by demolishing the existent partition walls, in order to improve the incidence of natural light through the 13 meters of facade facing northeast.    The project design is the result of creating a succession of 5 rooms and thresholds that enhances the visual depth of the dwelling.... Extension and internal overhaul '30s house

In the town of Heemstede we renovated and redesigned a typical 1930s house with a new extension on the ground floor. Our starting point for the design of the extension was a visual and spatial connection between the living, the terrace and the spacious and sunny back garden. The floor-to-ceiling oak window frames, the skylight, a beautiful overhang and the wooden cladding of the extension accompany this connection and provide a beautiful space full of daylight with a Japanese appearance. Studio de Nooyer The original layout of the house consisted of an en-suite living and dining room, a separate kitchen with a small utility room, and a hall with a spacious staircase that connects these spaces. In our design we have connected the kitch... More
