Office of Political Innovation takes a playful and irreverent design approach to design for children

On the outskirts of Madrid in Encinar de los Reyes, Reggio School by the Office of Political Innovation is a bold and whimsical school that stimulates the imagination with elements such as cork walls, concrete arches, eccentric roofs, and round windows. The six-story pilot project for the Reggio Center for Pedagogical Research and Innovation is modeled on the Italian education model established in the 1940s by Loris Malaguzzi that encourages child-led forms of learning. Shoe Quarter by CIVIC Architects brings the cultural history of shoemaking back to its roots

The new Shoe Quarter by CIVIC Architects brings a new and innovative knowledge centre for shoe design, fashion, and production back to the Dutch leather and shoe city of Waalwijk. Situated in a listed building complex originally designed by Alexander Kropholler in the 1930s, the partially renovated, transformed, and expanded building displays a collection of 12,000 shoes alongside exhibitions, a knowledge centre, library, workshop space, laboratories for design and prototyping, as well as a museum café.
