Torre Manacar

The Torre Manacar (Manacar Tower) is the only skyscraper that emerges from the urban fabric of Mexico City. It stands in the southern part of the city at the intersection between the Avenida de Los Insurgentes and the Circuito Interior inner ring highway. The mixed purpose - residential and retail - building is the last project created by the late architect, Teodoro González de León, who was always very aware of the relationship between light and architecture. The need to define the building’s artificial lighting was an important requirement right from the start of the project given the tower’s massive presence in natural daylight. Its geometrical structure is extremely distinctive and therefore both the architect a... More

Melbourne Quakers Centre

The Quakers Centre in Melbourne is a renovation and addition to a 1960s office building on the edge of the Melbourne CBD. The building houses the Quaker library, offices and a meeting room that will be used for worship on Sundays and is intended for other meetings during the week, such as the local Islamic community. The site is a triangular wedge of leftover space between the north-south orientated greater Melbourne grid and the city grid, which is rotated approximately 28°.   A number of shifting asymmetrical circles have been inserted within the triangular space to detonate the shift between the city and surrounding suburbs, notating an almost subconscious sense of our placement in the wider environment. Much time was spent di... More

Moroni Gomma Milano

The new store Moronigomma in Milan, Corso Garibaldi 123, arose in a privileged urban area, in between 19th century buildings and the most contemporary part of the city, the ever-changing area of the skyscrapers of Porta Nuova. An area of the city in constant activity throughout the whole day, due to the presence of offices, shops and restaurants. The retail space where the shop is located is in the heart of this context and through the large double-height window on Corso Garibaldi it is able to absorb all its vitality.   The main objective of the project necessarily becomes to ensure full visual permeability between the inside and the outside. Loft New York

Soho Soho is historically an industrial area, where lofts, before being used as artists’ studio were production units. Large and deep plateaus with not much light at the center. A space dedicated to work and storage. The activity of these production units started collapsing during the 19th century, leaving numerous vacant spaces at a very low price. In the 60’s, these cheap units attract artists in search of wider spaces of work, adapted to new techniques and practices developing then.   In 1973, the area is officially named the ‘Cast Iron District’ by the authorities, after the façade designed to develop a quick construction system for large scales. These NY historical buildings predate by a hundred ye... More

Le Royal Meridien Club Tower

Le Royal Meridien Club Tower is one of the most premium resorts in the United Arab Emirates. As an incredible height of luxury, it has solidified itself as one of the major attractions in the beautiful city of Dubai. LW design received an offer to work on many of the guestrooms and suites at Le Royal Meridien Club Tower, and our team took the offer in stride.   Despite being constructed and decorated beautifully, the Meridien Club Tower was looking for a much lighter and softer touch to their rooms. To be specific, something that would better resonate with the luxurious beachside feeling of the view outside the rooms. And our team of designers knew exactly what to change in those rooms, so they felt all the more inviting.   Cl... More

Two Union Square

The original structure, completed in 1989, is a 56-floor gateway to Seattle. As the third tallest skyscraper in Seattle, Two Union Square contributes to the notoriety of the city’s skyline. The vibrant and lively office space underwent a remodel in 2018 - with a vision to bring the outdoors in.  The challenge was to create a ceiling that emulated the waves of the Pacific, as well as create a sustainable - and tasteful - space to align with the ethos of Union Square. Depicting waves, a product of nature distinct in both their size and curvature, out of wood deepened the complexity of the framework for the ceiling system and resulted in vastly different configurations for components throughout the ceiling.  The General Contr... Anpha Office

Anpha office was formed after some big changes regarding its function from the investor. At first, we were tasked with creating a house for 5 family members, including a grandmother, a married couple and their two children. We are getting more accustomed to Saigon housing projects, however this construction has a big length, and we want to utilize that feature to create spaces that are interactive and connective for family members. We reserved a large portion of the length for the skylight, which is the main space to connect the rest of the spaces in the house, the activities, the balance between static and non-static, air movement, light and nature.   When the base of the construction was done, the investor shared with us his wish t...
