Irene Garcia

Architect from Munchen, Germany
My name is Irene García and I am an enthusiastic cosmopolitan architect with broad experience in countries such as Japan, United Kingdom, Belgium and Spain, my birthplace.

After starting my career with various collaborations in different architectural offices I decided to dive into my first international adventure. My destination was London, where I worked for GML Architect until 2010. Shortly after, Issho Architect in Tokyo provided me with the opportunity to experience a new culture and to add a new architectural perspective to my profile. During this period I had the chance to collaborate with Hisaya Sugiyama, president of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) in Japan as a member of his team at Quincy Studio. As result of my involvement in this project, I could join Taiyo Kensetsu Architects where I worked as project architect, taking care of the development of many projects in various cities all over Japan.

Given the instability following the earthquake and tsunami that struck the country in March 2011, I felt it was the right time to return to Europe. As a truly multicultural professional, the next step in my global career took me to Belgium, where I put into practice the knowledge I had gradually gained at Architextuur bureau in Bruges.

I live in Munich nowadays, where I continue broading my horizons as architect.
