Andy Martin Architecture

Andy Martin was born in Australia where he studied Architecture in Sydney and then at the Architectural Association in London. Andy then spent 5 years working with Marc Newson in Paris, after which, he went on to set up the Architectural practice AMA in Paris and was commissioned to create the new restaurant ‘Mash‘ in London 1998 and later Isola in 2001. Andy Martin Architecture come with a wealth of international experience, with award winning restaurants in London, Hong Kong, Miami, Casablanca and Greece. They also have worked with some of the most influential London restaurateurs of the last decade including Chris Corbin and Jeremy King of the renowned Ivy Restaurant, Oliver Peyton of Coast and Isola and the Hart Brothers of Quo Vadis and Barrafina and Kurt Zdesar of Chotto Matte. As well as restaurants, AMA have completed many residential projects in London and Australia most recently completing two very important residential projects for Noel and Sara Gallagher from Oasis and for Olga Polizzi, the international Hotelier. The works of AMA has appeared in numerous publications including ‘Top 100 World Houses’, ‘Interior Spaces of Europe’ and ‘Modernism and Modernization in Architecture’. Awards include ‘Best Interior Design’, Time Out Eating and Drinking Awards 2000, ‘Best New Restaurant’, Evening Standard 2001, 2005, 2007, Best New Bar Design, Bar Awards 2003 and Best International Restaurant Design, 2011. Individually, Andy also has been creating furniture and products over the last 10 years which have not only been commissioned for commercial restaurants and residential projects but for international manufacturers. His work has been shown consistently at the Milan Furniture Fair and many other fairs and galleries.
