Studio Yimu as Architects

Vaughan is a rapidly growing city in Ontario that is attract urbanization and developments. To be a part of this growing community, Fuwa Fuwa Pancake launched their 5th location at the busy Rutherford Marketplace situated in Vaughan. The mission of Fuwa Fuwa is to bring their authentic yet innovative souffle-like pancakes to their customers. To further reflect their brand ideology, the interior, traditional millwork and contemporary colour composition become key elements to exemplify the uniqueness of Fuwa Fuwa. The millwork dividers have been used to define spaces to create depth and layers. In additional of the warm and rich wood texture used throughout the store, the iconic yellow texture highlights specific accents and bring out a joyful atmosphere, consequently bringing the store to life. With fully installed ceiling to floor windows, it allows natural sunlight to enter and shine onto the banquette seating area creating a bright, natural and organic feel.
