The project to redesign the San Pellegrino bottling plant is organized into four key themes: to be natural, to be pure, to be conscientious, to be cool.To be natural, regarding the environment. Coming from the valley the first impact is a green bridge, that enables trucks to enter without passing through the inhabited village. The bridge is an extension of nature and flora that crosses the river Brembo. The bridge vegetation and the perimeter fence in natural stone are designed to be integrated with the landscape at the heart of the valley. The water that passes over the concrete is impoverished, the water passing over the stone is enriched. To be pure, regarding the water as the symbol of purity and production. The plant is redesigned using the architectural language of the historic building, adding the highest hygiene standards in order to instill and to communicate purity. The office building is revalued and integrated with the factory, offering many architectural opportunities. The white arches unify the complex both for technical, architectural and historical reasons. To be conscientious, regarding all staff. The San Pellegrino star refers to the human figure and it places man at the center. The historical offices building has a new panorama gallery where there are located the executive offices, the library, the company cafeteria and the gym. The renewed architecture of the offices partecipated in the quality of human resources, it makes the working life desirable and efficient. The work environment allows one to enjoy the nature of the valley and of the feeling of the seasons. To be cool, regarding visitors and customers. The shape of the greenhouse comes from a transparent sheet folded on itself that creates an accentuated arch, held at the base. As a result the entire building gains a dynamic effect that expresses the San Pellegrino corporate messages. The new public entrance comes straight from the main road. The visitors have direct access to the Water Theatre and to the Experience Lab. Those who take responsibility for our nature are very cool, in fact maybe the coolest in the world today. The Water Theater is located over the two car parking levels. It is a large water mirror designed for events and outdoor water and light installations. The Water Theater is protected from the commercial buildings and the external road, by a stone wall that also works as a theatrical tribune. The Experience Lab includes the main lobby entrance, lounges, laboratories, exhibition spaces, restaurants, library and the auditorium for 200 people. The passionate care for nature in the greenhouse protects the natural environment and invites you to interact with the San Pellegrino story and values. The Experience Lab will offer the sense of Italian style and hospitality in a space full of nature, light, air, movement, sound, enjoyment.
