A collaboration between architects and interior designers TOOP architectuur and Studio Straf.
The project is a deep research -where TOOP takes the lead in the architecture- on how to use concrete in a more traditional way. We wanted concrete to be handcrafted. It has to have the feeling of the hand of the builder.
Therefor we choose to make the concrete in a traditional and stacked way.
Different layers of concrete are poored on different moments. This made it possible to get rid of the hole centers we often see nowadays.
The concrete which has the same colour of the surrounding soil and trees has a brownish colour. It feels like earth.
Where Studio Straf takes the lead on the interior design. Even there the grounded feeling is the most important within the project.
The materials will be natural. Earthy, as the project has always been there.
The project is still ongoing but the images show how well the facade blends within the surroundings.
