Custom-designed architectural precasts

Today I bring you a project about how to renovate a facade, keeping the building’s original aesthetic. It involves the facade of a community of neighbours  in Bilbao (north of Spain) and as you can see from the images, it has terrace fronts with a diamond shape. Remarkable, right? They say diamonds are forever, but clearly in this case, the terrace fronts are more than 60 years old and although they’re diamond-shape it’s obvious they have not lasted forever. The problem is that with the passing of time, these parts have suffered damage due to the oxidation of the interior reinforcements, caused by water infiltration. Customized solution for La Moraleja

Due to the years and weather damage, the terrace face pieces were old and there was a danger of detachment. PROBLEMThere were cracked panels on the front, coinciding with the location of the reinforcements. Similarly, longitudinal cracks were observed on the underside, also coinciding with the panel's reinforcements in this area.   In addition, water filtrations from the planters affected the prefabricated panels, causing rust on their reinforcements and auxiliary support structure.   The owners decided to replace the damaged original pieces, which have very creative shapes and give the building great personality. CUSTOMIZED SOLUTIONAs a customized solution was required, with the purpose of obtaining similar, but more resist... More

Cornices custom-designed in Biarritz

The palatial-style villa at the centre of this restoration, built at the beginning of the 20th century, required large areas of its facade to be restored, particularly the upper cornices. These were evidently deteriorated by the passage of time and the marine environment. For this purpose, we used cornices custom-designed for the project. The estate had previously undergone several restorations, but they were never permanent, and this was the aim with the polymer concrete pieces, to achieve a permanent, long-lasting action. More
