Turenscape revitalises a disused waterscape into a floating forest park in China

Situated within the Yangtze River flood plains in Nanchang city in central-east China, the Fishtail park is a rejuvenation project of an ill-treated landscape of 126acres into a floating forest that exhibits stormwater regulation, promotes biodiversity, encourages recreational activities, and reconnects locals with nature. Qing Studio designs a public bookstore with flood-control spatial elements

Perched on the riverbank of the Yangtze River in Wuhan, the No Art bookstore by Qing Studio occupies a long strip space with an interior depth of 8m placed within a box-type waterproof wall serving as the last line of defence during flooding.  Yilong Zhao Being a part of the flood control infrastructure of the city, the store is prone to flooding during extreme monsoons. To overcome this, the shop equips a 1:12 slope disabled ramp standard for the inner floor fast outflow after flooding. Mackin Architects designs a disaster-resilient youth centre in Haisla

S Design Farm enfolds the Murakoshi House in a metal-panelled volume devoid of windows

Built on a pentagonal-shaped plot in a bustling neighbourhood of Tokyo, the Murakoshi House, designed by S Design Farm is an unconventional three-storey residence.
