Al Naseej Factory: A woven architecture that celebrates local craftspeople

Located in Bani Jamrah, Bahrain, the Al Naseej Factory by Leopold Banchini is a textile weaving facility and social space for the region’s local craftspeople. The shaded structure, complete with greenery, a water network, and seating areas, brings a naturally refreshing environment to the inhabitants of the village.  Dylan Perrenoud The project is part of a broader effort by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities aimed at redefining and reinvigorating traditional crafts and industries across Bahrain. Coogee House 01

Additions and alterations to a California Bungalow house, including a new first floor, rear ground floor, pool and garage.One owner wanted the original character retained, the other a clean, contemporary feel.The original house facing the street was retained, with several features re-instated such as the porch, bay window and internal fixtures.The new additions are contemporary with a raw quality using plywood cladding and unpainted steel work. The North Loop Loft with Lucius 140 Fireplace

As Katie Jaydan of White Crane Construction says, it’s not everyday you get a call from the Wall Street Journal wanting an interview. They saw an image of this Minneapolis loft on Houzz, and like us, wanted to know more about this unique industrial design. Dexters Shop Exterior Design

Designing for Dexter’s is a huge opportunity – one that the CAS design team was recently tasked with. The concept of designing the façade of a corner store is a daunting one, but to create one for a Dexter’s corner store in a major area of London, UK is even more challenging. The team was asked to functionally adapt an existing exterior of an old building to represent a slightly more contemporary aesthetic. The designers rose to the challenge and created a design that artfully matches the old-school classical aura of the original, but with a modern twist. The white moldings complement the vintage bricks from the old exterior exceptionally well, and the overall execution has been carried out brilliantly. Más

Villa CP

The project Villa CP, the restoration of an old Catalan farmhouse, serves as inspiration for the installation that ZEST Architecture will present in Palazzo Mora, as participant in the exhibition “Time Space Existence”, organized by the Global Art Affairs Foundation. Villa CP is a restoration project, whereby a 21st century house has beencreated inside an old stone structure.
